The April ITC
On the weekend of the 8th & 9th April the INTA held it's Instructor and Technical Course (ITC) in the Firhouse Community College in Dublin. Instructing were the President of the INTA, Master O'Toole (VIII degree), Vice-President of the INTA Master Douglas (VIII degree), Master Martin (VIII degree) and Master Donnelly (VII degree). Mr Curran (V degree) was also teaching the INTA National Instructors Course.
As usual there is a great attendance of red and black belts who wish to do a dan-grading in the near future, but lower colour belts and many senior black belts were present too.
Saturday's part of the seminar
was for yellow belt and up. The colour belts covered a thorough understanding of their patterns, and 3, 2 and 1-step sparring, while black belts went through the higher patterns up to 3rd dan. Sunday's part of the seminar was for red and black belts only. Patterns from Chon-Ji up to Tong-Il were explained in depth, and we practised more step sparring. Master Donnelly schooled us all in excellent side and back kick sparring drills, to great enjoyment of all.
Then came the opportunity for those contemplating a dan grading in 2017, to show off their skills in front of 2 masters, and get the necessary feedback from them afterwards.
We would like to thank all the INTA Masters for their time and dedication, for so willingly sharing their deep knowledge of every aspect of Taekwon-Do with us and for their enthusiasm and friendliness, and their tireless answers to our many questions.
